“Bangkok’s historic Wat Sarod, located in the Rat Burana District, is set to host an extraordinary cultural and religious milestone on May 30, 2026. This grand celebration honors the official appointment of the temple’s Head Abbot, Dr. Phrakhrusanghakitdilok (Vajirapañño), as a Preceptor (Phra Upajjhaya). Blending deep-rooted Buddhist traditions with majestic Thai cultural arts, the event promises to be a landmark moment for the nation’s cultural landscape.
The procession transcends a traditional religious rite; it is a profound testament to the unity of the Buddhist assembly. It serves as a vibrant bridge connecting the “Saddhamma” (the true and pure teachings of the Buddha) with the modern world, ensuring that Thai heritage is preserved for future generations.
A major highlight of the ceremony is the grand cultural procession, featuring “Plai RachaBURI,” a magnificent elephant with highly auspicious characteristics graciously brought by Mr. Jetsada Singto. Riding this majestic creature will be renowned actor Dr. Atichart Chumnanont, honoring the event with his majestic presence alongside other distinguished guests, including acclaimed actor Mr. Sukawin Kaewpikul.
Adding a celestial touch to the ceremony is the breathtaking parade of the “Angels and Goddesses of Sarod.” Led by Dr. Kemisa Boonyakiate (CEO Founder – Dance Me Up), students from Dance Me Up “School of Dance and Performing Arts” will gracefully march in “Modern Thai Traditional Costumes.” These cultural masterpieces meticulously transform authentic Thai fabrics into exquisite, elegant dresses for the celestial beings, masterfully designed by Dr. Chawiz Cheunjareon, Advisory Board of AMAZIE WORLD Company Limited “Gateway of Thailand.”
